This Privacy Policy explains what information openwofffile.com (“we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and your choices. If you have any questions, email hello@openwofffile.com.
The short version
- Your font files stay on your device. The font tool runs in your browser. Fonts you open or convert are not uploaded to our server, and we cannot see them.
- We do not sell your data.
- We collect only what is needed to run the website, protect it and answer comments or emails.
Fonts you open with the tool
When you open a font with our tool, your browser reads the file on your own device. The preview, font details, glyph list and conversion all happen in your browser. The font is not sent to us or to anyone else. When you close the page, nothing about your font is kept by us.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, our web server receives some technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the page you asked for, the time of the request and the page that referred you. Our hosting provider keeps this in server logs for security, error fixing and to protect the site from abuse. These logs are kept for a limited time.
We do not currently use analytics or advertising trackers. If we add them in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
Third-party services that load on our pages
To make the site work, some files are loaded from other services. When your browser loads them, those services receive your IP address and basic browser information, as they would with any website.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy.
Comments
If you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and website you enter, the comment itself, your IP address and your browser’s user agent. This helps us spot spam. Your email address is not shown publicly.
An anonymized string created from your email address (called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you have a profile picture there. After your comment is approved, your profile picture may be shown next to it.
Comments and their details are kept so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically, unless you ask us to remove them.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress, the software that runs our site, may set a few cookies:
- If you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email and website in cookies, so you do not have to fill them in again. These last for one year.
- Site administrators who log in get login cookies. Regular visitors do not.
Our caching system may also use technical cookies to serve pages quickly.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you and keep it only as long as needed.
Email sign-ups
If we offer a newsletter and you sign up, we use your email address to send you the emails you asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
How long we keep information
- Fonts you open with the tool: never stored by us.
- Server logs: kept for a limited time by our hosting provider.
- Comments: kept until you ask us to remove them.
- Emails: kept only as long as needed to help you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how we use it. To make a request, email hello@openwofffile.com. We will reply within a reasonable time.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Our articles link to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
